If your booking request has been expired (host did not respond to you within 24 hours of booking) or declined by the host, you won't be charged for the reservation and you are free to book with another host.
We constantly remind our hosts to keep their booking availability up to date and respond to the booking requests in a timely matter. However, sometimes situations come up that prevent this from happening.
We recommend messaging several hosts before submitting a booking request to ask about their availability and ask any other questions you might have.
Your payment method may be temporarily authorized for a charge when you have made a booking, but this authorization is voided and released back to the payment method if your booking request is declined or expires. We complete a charge only when a booking request is confirmed.
